I WALKED through there carrying 2000 lbs of gear and killed that cat with one Firebolt. I stumbled across the place after killing the Dragon on Mt Anthor and got as far as the Falmer deep but couldn't get any further. This doesn't help at all.
But at least I know it's part of a main quest, so maybe if I come back I can get through.
He's completely ignoring all the clues and missed the lever for the gate which was to the right in the? dark.
Rubbish graphics, too.
